Welcome to the Ligum North America Website
LIGUM began operations in Jablonec nad Nisou Czech in May of 1993. In 1997, Westland Gmbh of Melle Germany invested in the company and Ligum joined the Westland Group. From its beginnings, Ligum has seen rapid growth and now operates plants in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Russia and now the United States. Both Westland and Ligum cooperate with alliance partners around the globe.
Ligum produced its first "sleeve" (a fiberglass tube covered with engraveable elastomer and ground to printing plate tolerances) in 1997. At present, the elastomer sleeve is the principal product produced in the company's new, modern plant in Jablonec. As demand for flexible packaging continues to grow, Ligum, as a market leader, sees great potential for future growth and development.
Enjoying a strong market position in Europe and demand growing in North America, Ligum seized the opportunity to satisfy the needs of flexographic printers and converters in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America. In 2011, Ligum established a new business entity, Ligum North America, LLC, with a state of the art facility located in Kenosha, Wisconsin USA. Focusing exclusively on sleeve technology, the operation, as its Czech parent, serves customers in flexo, gravure and related converting industries providing first quality, precision ground,high-performance elastomer covered sleeves.
